The 2010 -2011 Forecast
Saskatchewan- Sept 15th -Oct 31
Timely rains and a reasonable winter means mother nature is setting up for another banner hatch of Huns and Sharptails. Due to decent moisture in the form of winter and spring snows good Duck nesting conditions re also predicted . Duck numbers should also also increase as reports are good for duck nesting cover. .We only have a few slots left so come out and enjoy the best Gray Partridge or "mixed bag "Hunt in North America.
Arizona - December -February
The 2010-2011 season is looking average to good for Desert Quail (Gambles and Scaled ) due to the record amount of winter rains we have received .Mearns Quail require summer or Monsoon rains so it is hard to predict their numbers at this time but my feeling is their numbers should also be right around average also.I am basing this prediction the amount of carry over birds from last season and the fact that the winter rains we received will help to some extent by making things easier for Mearns Quail to dig for food December is filling up fast and January will soon follow .This is truly a great hunt with great weather throughout.
Oklahoma- January 2011
Scenting conditions in Oklahoma this past season was tough. However the bird population was decent and with a little luck we should have good "WILD" Bobwhite numbers this year .I am out there for the first two weeks have January and I already have two hunts slated with two more spots to fill ,If you are interested let me know.
Registered Brittany Puppies
We are going to be breeding my Male High Plains "Slick" to Tana Kradolfer's Anna Montana. Both parents are medium sized dogs with lots of drive.Slick is one of the hardest working Britts you will ever see and Anna is no slouch either.
Besides being great bird finders and pointers ,both are naturally back and retrieve .Not only will these be great Bird dogs they will have the jam in them to compete in field trails if you so desire.
The breeding will take place in and around March of 2011 ,the cost of theses pups is $600 and can be shipped from Bozeman Montana Contact me if you are interested.

Gear Reviews
RST Shotgun Shells
http://www.rstshells.com
By far the best loads on the market today for older guns .I like the 21/2 inch 7/8 oz light loads for my 16 gauge G.Lewis and W.M. Cahmore ,they are awesome .For Huns and Sharptails I have used the 1 oz #6 copper shot with great results .The 2 3/4 7/8 oz 2o gauge loads also seem nice.In my dealing with RST they have always been informative
Garmin Astro 220 Tracking System
http://www8.garmin.com/astro
I own two sets receivers and 5 collars ..for a reason. When everything is working they are awesome however i have had issues with directions being opposite ,collars turning off and the material they are made out of is not very durable ,so collars literally falling apart. Garmin continues to make improvements and I have received excellent service from Garmin ,generally all defective items have been replaced via Warranty.Despite all the negatives I really like the system and suggest getting one ,especially if you have big running dogs.
Adios to Mother Vests -Hello Wing Works ?
Mother is no longer making vests which is to bad because they produced the greatest Upland Bird vest on the market , I am glad I own 3 of them. Most vests out there are either of poor design or are not constructed from durable materials.Pella is building a vest for Orvis that looks good but knowing what I know about Pella vest's they will rip easy and are not very durable due to it's cotton construction.Cabelas has a few "knock off " vests that are okay but not thought out in their design Although they use durable materials Filson vests look like something that was handed down from your Grandfather and lacks a lot of features I like for hunting in the Desert .IThe bright spot on the Strap Vest Horizon is Wing Works out of Idaho .These guys are Chuckar fanatics and their vests show it .IF and when I wear out my mother vests i will certainly be purchasing one.

Dogtra -Training Collars
http://www.dogtra.com
I have been using these collars for years and have yet to see or hear of a training collar system that is as simple to use and as durable as Dogtra. Their customer service is also excellent.
